Bavarian Trail Champion Ship 30km at MUT in Veitshöchheim, Germany

A few weeks before the race there was an email from Christoph, the head of our club. In it he asked, who has time and feel like taking part at the Bavarian Trail Championship, so we can have a team. Since I did not have any plans, I agreed. Having signed in there was no way out anymore. Luckily it was a home match. It was only 40k to drive there. So, after the breakfast, I drove to Veitshöchheim. When I arrived there, Christoph, Theo and Walter already standing together and having a small talk. I picked up my race number and joined them. We still had some time and used it to exchanges some information.

Just before the start we went to the start area. Before we can get there, we had to check-in. This was due the fact that we had to carry some basic equipment due to the trail rules. This for example included some drinks, a cup, a first aid set, a mobile, etc, and of cause was checked. Besides there was a small race introduction from the organizer. Even there was a lot of talk the start was in time. I had done the German champion ship in ultratrail here last year, so I knew already what was coming. Basically the course and the support was still the same. The main difference was the speed people started. Also I started much faster than last time. Nevertheless, I knew that I do not have good chances to get a top placement in the age group or overall. Therefore, my running condition was to bad and the course to short. In the end I managed to arrive in the top third, but we did not make a podium place.
