6-Hour race Troisdorf, Germany

Saturday at the evening, most of the runners already arrived. Not only because of the 6-Hour race at the next day. Also there was a general meeting of the DUV. One of the sponsors, Premium Hotel Köln Airport, offered cheap rooms to all the runners. There was also a breakfast buffet included.

The start of the 6-Hours was at 10am. It was around 3,5km away from the hotel. Against Saturday there was more fog in the morning. But it was 2-3°C warmer than Saturday at Zeil am Main. There were a lot of participators at the race. Not only because of the general meeting. Also it was the last 6-Hour race of the 6-Hour DUV cup. It was a nice 2,5km loop around the stadium. After the runners exit the stadium there was a left turn. Now till the end of the stadium. Then up to the top of a dam and around the stadium. At the end of the stadium still straight at the road. After a few meters there was a right turn. At the end of the street the runners entered the main street to the stadium. Now we took this street till the entry of the stadium. There was the aid station. After we took a small snack entered the stadium and ran the short way to the stands. There was a 180° turn at the straight line. At this point there was also the time check. It was also a nice loop, because it was possible to hear the speaker mostly all the way. So it was possible to be up to date all the time. The rest of the time you had some nice music from the stadium.

Kümpel Jochen ran a new course record and was first with 53,2miles (85,624km).
