Harzquerung (51 km), Germany

Friday afternoon, I was travelling by train from Nürnberg to Wernigerode. As closer I came to Wernigerode, as worse the weather was. The weather forecast for the weekend on the other hand was different – sunny and temperatures around (68 F) 20°C! And the forecast was true! Against last year it was already warm in the morning. The participation was lower than the participation last year. What was the reason? – Mainly because this year the race was not a German championship. So only lover of nature running were at the start line.

There was no different at the course against last year. It was the same route, like every year. But it was more difficult to run at the paths. The rain of the last days left his markings! It was not really muddy, but the ground was a like a gel.

The running process was quiet simple. From start on the second placed runner of last year was domination at the leading group. So it was no wonder, that he won the race.
