Team Slug Fattest Butt 50 K at Killens Pond State Park near Dover, Delaware USA (01/01/2006)

Already when I called the organization, he told me that it would not be a big race. More like a recreation run. He wrote at the e-mail that we meet at his house and we will drive from there to the start point, which will be top secret up till then. At 7am around 15 runners met at his house and we drove in a group to the park. We ran the first of the nine loops together, so everybody knows the course. One runner, which knows the course, volunteered to run with the faster runners. The course was on a path around the lake. There where only a few yards at the street. After we surrounded the lake there was a short return way to the aid station, which was the only marked part of the course. There was really no way to get lost. There was plenty of snacks and drinks at the aid station . Even hot chocolate and chili was waiting on a camping cooker. Even the sun did not break trough it was a nice running day. The temperatures where around 50F. Because it was not a race in the traditional way, Dave and I enjoyed a relaxed run.
