German championship 24-Hour-Race at Reichenbach, Germany |
Like the last two times, we arrived in Reichenbach on Friday. Against last year the number of runners from the LG-Würzburg raised again. As well as in previous years a very hot weekend was broadcasted. However, we did not receive the Sunday storms. Also the temperatures and the humidity were not as high as last year. Besides the German championship, which was also this year in Reichenbach, it was the 20th 24-hour event in Reichenbach. As a small present there was a coffee cup and a cereal bowl.
Because these days are embossed by the world championship in soccer, the race was influenced. It was obvious, because during the game in the afternoon with Germany the course was quite empty. All through the game, the people living around the area served us with bowls of cold water, drinks and snacks as well as information about the soccer game. During the night it was also very quiet at the course. A lot of runners had a break and recovered from the hot day hours. Rewarded were people, who stayed on the course. The first woman, Marika, showed a dominant race and won in the en. Especially the junior, Florian, showed a quiet constant race and earned therefore the crown.
The only negative point was the catering, which was very cowardly and only by asking. Besides it was again a very nice event.
