Schwanberg race 10,4 km from Iphofen to Castell, Germany

Friday evening and middle of July, it was time to start the Schwanbergrace again. The amount of pre registered runners was lower than last year. Also with the post registered the amount of runners was less people. Was it because of the hot temperatures? The temperature was over 30°C since weeks. At the course nothing had changed. The first 1.5km were to get out of Iphofen and through the wine hills. After that there was a hallow way up till the Schwanberg. There was the first water station. We continued at gravel paths on the top of the Schwanberg. At kilometre five we passed the second water station, followed by the third at kilometre 7.5. After eight kilometres we went on a wooden path till we reached the end of the woods. Now there was the rest down trough the wine hills till Castell. At Castell the runners where welcomed in traditionally at the wine fest. Have arrived every runner get a bottle of water. Now he can have a shower and receive his glas of wine when he returned the timing chip.

The race was dominated by runner from Ochsenfurt. Even it was hot the results where quiet well. The award ceremony was about two hours later, like the years before. Because of the good weather it was very nice to sit together till deep in the night.
