This morning all the runners came very late to the prestage meeting. Laure did not have to say a lot. She only mentioned a beautiful fancy shop after 12 kilometers. The lady at the shop was opening at 6am only for us. She will also provide a very good breakfast. But only the supporters will benefit from it.

The first 12 kilometers I ran with Markus. Just in front of us was Makoto. He had a very good day today and it seemed he wanted to finish early. When we arrived at the shop all three of us made a right turn. It looked like it was written at the road book. When we entered we meet all of the organization team and some other supporters. You almost can think there was a bus with tourists holding in front of the door. We looked around and bought some souvenirs. Other people enjoyed the breakfast. Makoto left the shop with an ice cream and an ice coffee and continued running. I got an ice cream as well. Later there was no possibility anymore. I followed Makoto. When we left the shop Patrick and James arrived. Without some runners all of us went into it and listened to Laure’s advice. After that there was not much to see. There were big cow range and while to while a wind mill to pump water. While to while there was a Ranch. Before I arrived at Clayton there were two anomalies. One was two turtles, which surprised me a lot. The other was two little mountains. Well, you can see them already a long time, but now there was the Historical Marker. This two maintains called Rabbit Ears. In the past they were a marker for the caravans going towards Santa Fe. Even the landscape was principle flat there were light up and down hills always. You can look very far. The landscape was done by vulcanos at the past. The Rabbit Ears were one of this vulcanos. You can see the typical form of a volcano. Just after the marker we entered Clayton.

The finish was just in front of the Best Western. The organization was sleeping in it. After I finished a man from the local press arrived with his son. He heard from the race and wants to publish this big event at the local press. When I talked to him he told me a lot about the region. He also told me that they waited a long time for the rain of yesterday. There was no rain since nine month. As he said there was very less rain in this region. But here a lot of thunderstorms are born even they do not get them. Today it was very warm again and there were almost no clouds at the sky. But it changed at the late afternoon.
