This morning we had to discuss a few things. Luckily we had chairs to sit for that time. Yesterday evening I had talked about the starting times and the camelbak with all the other runners. It came up, that the second topic raise up more dust. Two runners asked for a disqualification for Serge. He told yesterday morning when he told about his opinion of the camelbak that he did not take any liquid in it since almost three weeks. Because one of the two demanding runners was still at the ranking, Laure asked for a vote about the disqualification. She did not like this situation at all. She also mentioned that the starting times will not be changed anymore till our final arrival. Then I told the result of the two decisions. There will be no camelback anymore and the start time will be at 5am. Also I mentioned the wish of Alexandro. Laure let him report his reasons himself. He told that he does not have any problems with Serge as a person, but his acting against the race rules had to been punished. A word fight brought out. Laure was mad about people not acting according the race rules themselves and asking for such things. The vote was for Serge. All other eight eligible voters (with Anneke and Peter) did not want a disqualification. Serge left the room for the vote. Then Laure acknowledged that she was taking the rules to easy at the beginning. For example with people dropping away their coke tins as well as with people playing Frisbee on the road. But that will change now. After a quick group photo we started.

Today there were almost no turns. Most of them were in Springfield. To get there we ran on a long straight road though the fields. Yesterday I already visited Springfield. To bad we passed just the suburbs today. So we did not see and points of interest. After Springfield we continued trough the fields. At this part also René came towards me. He had found an error at the turn sheet. Even there were markings on the road he went back and told everybody about it. The temperatures rose again above 40°C (105°F).

When I arrived at Decatur it was already past noon. We had almost 90 kilometers to go and it will take a long time till all runners had arrived.
