14. stage at 05/03/2012 from Bow to Lostwithiel, (day: 53.5miles / overall.: 800.3miles)
Already at night you can hear the rain pattern on the roof of the bus. In the morning it almost stopped, without some drops. After I had a rich breakfast I started. I woke up just past 5am, but when I had breakfast I would love to go back to bed. But I had no joice, at 7am I had to start. It was too warm to wear a rain jacket. Without the jacket it was too cold. With the light rain it was getting a bit nasty. Luckily it soon stopped raining. Still it stayed dark and cloudy. Again it was not easy to find the way. We passed Tavistock. In my opinion one of the most beautiful villages we passed. The roads are not nice. It is hard to tell what was more annoying or dangerous, the big four lane roads or the curvy and narrow ones. Both are not nice. Today Neils Mother came over to see me. He ran a few days ago with me and already mentioned that his mother will come. In the end I arrived after more than 90 km (56 miles). I already got used to the idea that the course was most times slightly longer than was posted. There were no showers again until Rory had organised them at a local leisure centre. After the shower we went back to the bus. We had dinner, watched some TV and wrote our reports until it was bed time.
