24-h-Challenge of the DUV - 6h-race in Bernau, Germany

This year was a bit crazy. Due to the corona pandemic many races where rescheduled or even canceled. Also, all championships of the DLV where canceled. To give still a little bit of joy to the runners, the DUV organized a 24h challenge, also including a 100km race and a 6h race. For us, the runners from Wuerzburg, it was a very long trip, since the event took place in Bernau near Berlin.

In a small group we traveled on Friday to Bernau. Due to traffic and the long trip we arrived quiet late. It was just enough to get some last pasta at the pasta party. At the next day the start was quiet late, at 10am. I did not expect much from the race, since my level was quiet bad due to less training. Still we hoped to have some chance with our team. In the end it was much better than suspected. I was second place at my age group, Georg was third in his age group, and Marco even was second place over all. Also our team was theoretically quiet good, but unfortunately there was no placements for teams.

After the race we left quickly. We had a long drive and all of us had plans for the next day already.
